This exhibition recalls a time in the mid-20th century when Starfield, the Manship property, was teeming with creative activity. Paul Manship’s bronze sculptures dotted a landscape of granite and cultivated gardens, including espaliered pear trees and lush grape arbors.
CONTINUUM brings back this inspired energy, with an eclectic mix of sculpture in various mediums and styles that respresent the rich creative culture which flourishes here today. The seventeen contemporary artists whose work is featured here either live, work, or contribute to the creative community of Cape Ann. They use inventive methods to surprise and delight, each of their works thoughtfully connects with Starfield’s striking surroundings.
