Paul Miyamoto holds a BFA and a MFA in painting from Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles, California. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in California, Florida, Massachusetts and throughout New York. Selected exhibitions of his work include Hudson Valley Artists 2021: Who Really Cares?, Samual Dorsky Museum of Art; Go Home, Paul Akira Miyamoto, 2021; Rearview: Life Examined, 2020; Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region, 2016; Body Language, 2014; An Armory Show, 2013; True North, 2005; Showroom, 2000. His work is held in the collection of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute & Museum of Art, Utica, NY, and in numerous private collections.
As Associate Clinical Professor at the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Science, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He taught Visual Communication in the Electronic Media Art and Communication Program for more than two decades and organized numerous student exhibitions. Miyamoto lives and works in Millbrook, NY.
