Manship Artist Sarah Karikó, PhD presented a hands-on workshop on the “Wisdom of Webs: Stories of the Spider World” at Harvard Divinity School’s Alternative Spiritualities Conference in April. As Research Director of Gossamer Labs, and Associate, Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard’s Museum of Comparative Zoology, Karikó detailed some of the ways spiders “listen” and engage with their surrounding world as well as ways spiders have influenced cultural ideas that shape our relationships with each other across time and place. She facilitated an exploration of what we can learn from spiders that may help us better care for our interdependence throughout the web of life.
