Arpeggione Ensemble’s Dreams and Dances
June 1, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The North Shore has never experienced anything quite like this before — a program combining historical instruments with new chamber arrangements of two of the most well-known pieces of 19th c. music, plus original choreography that adds so much depth of depression, wonder and excitement to the music on the program. This is not just seriously good music, this is seriously fun! ~ Andrea LeBlanc, Co-Founder Arpeggione Ensemble
Arpeggione’s musicians will perform Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony and excerpts from Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on instruments from the early 19th century. Renowned NYC-based choreographer and dancer Julian Donahue joined by Guilia Faria and Mónica Lima will bring these dreams to life outside at Starfield. This performance is made possible by grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Beverly Cultural Council, Gloucester Cultural Council, and the Institute for Savings, as well as funding from the Prometheus Circle of the Manship Artists Residency.
