Donna Hassler is Director Emerita of Chesterwood/National Trust for Historic Preservation, the summer home, studio and gardens of Daniel Chester French in Stockbridge, MA. While the Site’s Executive Director from 2008-2022, she was invited to complete a two-week residency at MARS in late summer 2021, to research the studio practice of Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Daniel Chester French for a forthcoming exhibition catalogue to accompany a 2023-2025 traveling exhibition organized by the American Federation of Arts, New York. Hassler is a noted authority on 19th and 20th century American Sculpture and one of the authors of the two-volume collection catalogue of American sculpture in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
